The ADAC Cyclassics proved to be a demanding day, with five ascents of the Waseberg shaping the race. Team Picnic PostNL started with the goal of sprinting with Pavel Bittner. Throughout the race, the team stayed together well, but on the fourth ascent Bittner was unable to hold the peloton’s wheel over the top of the Waseberg and was dropped. The final climb split the race into three groups, with Sean Flynn in the front group. Flynn fought hard in the finale, leading the team across the line in 22nd.
