Team Picnic PostNL coach Pim Ligthart: “Scheldeprijs is traditionally one of the fastest races on the calendar, often ending in a bunch sprint, but the wind can play a big role and create opportunities for echelons along the way. We need to be ready for both scenarios and stay sharp throughout the race. With Pavel, we have our designated finisher, so if it comes down to a sprint, our goal is to bring him into the final in the best possible position. At the same time, if the wind becomes a factor, we want to be alert and present in the right moves. If the race is more controlled, we are also willing to take the initiative to help shape the race towards a sprint finish.”
