Team Picnic PostNL coach Davide Gani: “Valenciana is a demanding race and normally features quite a high level in the peloton. There are two likely bunch sprint stages, while the opening day is already pretty challenging and we have a very hard queen stage on day three which will shape the GC. With a line-up made of a mix of new and experienced riders in the team, our main goals will be to race together, to work as a group, to communicate well and to be in the right places at the right moment. We will also use the race as a chance for Dilyxine to test herself in the GC as a finisher and see how far we go there, so each day we will aim to support her; while also looking for opportunities to go for stage results too as a whole team. It’s going to be a good opportunity to see where we are as a team, and we’re looking forward to building on our season start from the races in Australia and UAE.”
