Team Picnic PostNL coach Christian Guiberteau: “Sunday’s race starts in an explosive manner with the climb of Col d’Eze from the flag drop, so we can expect a really tough start to the day. We need to find the balance of following the important moves if the race already splits, but not spend too much energy either. We could then see things regroup if the pace slows, but the climbs continue throughout the day, with the last major ascent cresting at 30 kilometres remaining. From there, rolling roads on the way to the finish town could see more attacks so we need to be sharp as a team to cover the moves, and speak to each other so we can play our cards in the best way coming to the final climb to the line.”
