Team Picnic PostNL coach Albert Timmer: “Tour de l’Ain offers three very different stages, giving us opportunities to approach the race in different ways. We line up with a young team, and on the opening, flatter stage, Christiaan will have the chance to see what he can do if it comes down to a sprint. The two more demanding stages suit an aggressive approach, and we want to race proactively by looking for opportunities to be part of the action. With Chris in the team, we also have an experienced rider who can guide and support our younger riders throughout the week.”
