27th March – Classic Brugge-De Panne: Bruges – De Panne
Following on from the Men’s race yesterday, Team Picnic PostNL Women’s program were in action on Thursday for some more one-day racing. With little wind to split things up, the day looked destined to be one for the fast women in the peloton. Team Picnic PostNL looked after each other throughout the day as the race progressed towards the finish; where they aimed to set up fast finisher Charlotte Kool. Coming into the last kilometres the team helped reel in the breakaway, and drop Kool off in the wheels towards the front. Unfortunately, Kool got squeezed in against the barriers as the sprint began so she couldn’t compete for a top result on the day, crossing the line in 15th place.
