Dwars door Vlaanderen Men
The last race before Ronde van Vlaanderen saw the men’s peloton race fast and fierce all day. Team Picnic PostNL wanted to approach the race with similar tactics as in previous events, by getting riders ahead to then support the rest of the team as the race progressed. However, due to the high speeds no real break was able to form. At one point, the peloton split in two and Bjorn Koerdt was the representative from the team to make it to the front. From there, the speed remained high throughout the rest of the afternoon, with Koerdt doing his best to get involved in the hectic reduced bunch sprint for the podium.
