Team Picnic PostNL lined up for the GP Monseré, taking on 203 kilometres from Torhout to Roeselare. While a sprint finish was expected, the race has seen surprise winners from breakaways in recent years. The peloton took its time before allowing a move to go clear, with a first breakaway of nine riders forming but quickly being brought back. Later in the race, with 39 kilometres to go, two riders attacked and built a gap of around 30 seconds. A counter move of five riders bridged across, creating a seven-man leading group with a slender advantage over the peloton. As the race entered the final kilometres, the breakaway fought to stay clear, but the peloton gradually closed the gap. In a dramatic finale, the last of the breakaway riders were caught with less than 100 metres to go, setting up a high-speed bunch sprint. In the sprint, Dylan Groenewegen powered to victory, while Frits Biesterbos led Team Picnic PostNL across the line.
