The Women’s program lined-up up in Spain for their first ever participation at the Navarra Women’s Elite Classic on Wednesday afternoon, set for a day over the rolling hills around Pamplona. The team were active from the start with Megan Arens making the break of six, which meant the rest of the squad could conserve energy in the peloton behind. Arens’ group worked well together but as they headed into the second half of the stage and their advantage was trimmed down.
A counter-attacking group launched from the peloton, which included Mara Roldan, and they then made it up to the head of the race where Arens showed good legs to be the last rider from the early break in there. The young Dutch rider made some strong pulls to help hold the gap at one minute over the peloton before they took on the steepest climb of the day. On the tough slopes, Roldan dug deep but she had to let go of the front of the race, as she continues her return to racing after a tumultuous and injury interrupted start to 2026.
Back in the peloton the rest of the team positioned Pfeiffer Georgi, who made it over the ascent in the reduced front group. Teaming up with Roldan, the duo tried to roll a few attacks in the finale, but the race ultimately came down to a sprint finish where Georgi produced a good effort to take a solid sixth place on the day.
