Alexandre grew up around bikes, with his father and brother doing the sport, and by the age of seven, he was already on a bike himself. “Now it’s only me that still does cycling,” he says with a shy smile, “but that’s okay. I love it.”
Before fully committing to the bike, Alexandre played tennis and spent time swimming, but cycling always felt different. He loved being outside, riding through nature, and discovering new roads. What drew him in most, though, was the competitiveness. “The nature, the competition… that’s what I like,” he explains. He’s someone who thrives on effort, on pushing himself, on leaving everything out on the road.
His motivation to be out training is simple and honest: winning.
“My motivation is to win,” he says. “And to give 100% of myself. All the time, no matter what it might be.”
Alexandre describes himself as a pure mountain rider, happiest on the long climbs where the race becomes a battle of endurance and mental strength. As he steps up from juniors into the U23 category, he feels a mix of nerves and excitement. “I’m a little stressed,” he admits. “But I want to discover this category. I am excited.”
Off the bike, Alexandre is surprisingly low-key. He doesn’t watch much TV, listens to whatever music is playing, and loves pasta like every true rider. He enjoys fishing in the pond near his home — a calm contrast to the intensity he brings to racing. His favourite country is Spain, especially Calpe, where he loves training on those famous cycling roads.
His sporting hero is Julian Alaphilippe — a choice he laughs about for being “a very French answer,” but one that says a lot. It’s the panache, the attacking spirit, the flair that inspires him.
Looking several years ahead, Alexandre’s ultimate dream is bold and clear: “A good GC at the Tour de France.”
When reflecting on who he is then Alexandre describes himself as “kind,” “a warrior”, and a “team player.” With those type of personality traits, he hopes to be able to continue developing both on and off the bike in the coming years; exploring who he is and where his potential lies.
With climbing talent, a pure racer’s mentality, and a hunger to discover the next level, Alexandre steps into the Development program ready to learn, grow, and chase the mountains that inspire him.
