Stage 2 of the UAE Tour Women covered 145 kilometres from the Dubai Police Academy to Hamdan Bin Mohamed Smart University and was expected to finish in a sprint. A four-rider breakaway built a lead of over six minutes early on, but was reeled in with 30 kilometres to go. The peloton stayed calm until the final five kilometres. In the final kilometres, a crash disrupted the sprint. Lorena Wiebes took the win, while Rachele Barbieri led Team Picnic PostNL home. Another sprint opportunity awaits tomorrow.
