Stage 3: Roosendaal -> Bergen op Zoom
The wind played a decisive role on stage three of the ZLM Tour, with the exposed roads causing the peloton to split into several groups. A front group of ten riders eventually went clear and would fight for the stage victory, while Team Picnic PostNL missed the move. Frits Biesterbos, Sean Flynn and Roy Hoogendoorn were part of a large chasing group and spent a long time riding together. As the race progressed, Biesterbos was eventually left alone in the group and continued the fight towards the finish. The front group stayed clear to contest the stage win, with Walscheid taking the victory, while Biesterbos sprinted to 15th place from the first chasing group.
